Rapid QS

Platform overview

One Q-Switched Platform, with Two-Wavelength Flexibility

Rapid QS is a dedicated Q-Switched Nd laser platform engineered for safe, precise, and effective tattoo removal and carbon facial treatments. Utilizing advanced Q-Switched technology, the system delivers ultra-short 10 ns, high-energy pulses across a documented 0.4–0.8 J range, selectively targeting tattoo pigment while minimizing thermal impact on surrounding tissue. Selectable 1, 2, or 3 Hz repetition rates and spot sizes of 2 mm, 4 mm, or 6 mm provide practitioners with enhanced control and treatment flexibility. Intelligent treatment parameters, developed from SharpLight’s extensive clinical expertise and proven patient outcomes, support consistent treatment protocols.

The dual-wavelength system enables practitioners to switch between 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths using the integrated KTP adaptor, allowing treatment to be tailored to different tattoo ink colours. The 1064 nm wavelength targets darker pigments such as black and blue, while 532 nm is ideal for brighter pigments including red and yellow. The platform also supports carbon facial treatments for improved skin clarity, refined texture, and gentle exfoliation. Its compact footprint makes it an ideal, high-revenue addition to any aesthetic practice.

frequently asked questions

Practical details for clinics evaluating the platform.

Treatment eligibility, settings and aftercare must be determined by a trained SharpLight practitioner following consultation and skin testing.

What is the SharpLight Rapid QS?

Rapid QS is a professional Q-switched Nd:YAG laser workstation intended for adult tattoo-removal treatments in cosmetic clinics, medical clinics, and private clinics. It is operated by trained professionals qualified in aesthetic and dermatological applications.

How does Q-switched tattoo removal work?

A short, high-intensity laser pulse is selectively absorbed by tattoo pigment. Rapid pigment disruption occurs through a photo-acoustic mechanism, after which the released particles are cleared through the body’s natural processes.

What is the difference between the 1064 nm and 532 nm configurations?
  • 1064 nm is used for Carbon Facial treatments and dark tattoos including black, blue, and dark green.
  • The 532 nm KTP configuration is used for coloured tattoos including red, orange, yellow, and bright green when clinically appropriate.

Wavelength choice, response, and removal efficiency vary with ink composition, colour, depth, density, and the patient’s individual response.

Which handpiece and spot sizes are supplied?

The system uses one QS LASER handpiece with 2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm spot sizes. A KTP optical unit changes the operating wavelength from 1064 nm to 532 nm.

What is the operating range?

Rapid QS delivers a 10 ns pulse width, 0.4–0.8 J per pulse, and selectable repetition rates of 1, 2, or 3 Hz.

How often are Rapid QS treatments performed?
  • Tattoo Removal: 1 treatment every 8 weeks, typically 6–8 treatments.
  • Carbon Facial: up to 1 treatment every 3–4 weeks, or every 1–2 weeks for acne reduction.
Why is a test spot important?

The manual requires test treatment before continuing so the practitioner can evaluate tissue response, potential allergic reaction, and possible tattoo darkening. The tested settings and response should be documented in the patient record.
